The weddings this season seem to have a knack for falling on the hottest days of the year, and today's was no different! Thankfully though, this one was inside! T.J. and Rachel got married today at Stratford Bible Chapel in Champaign. Below are some of the pictures from the day. Blessings to you both!

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to put together the flowers for my friend Heather and her fiance Sam. They were married in an old barn at the Kaylx Sustainability Center in Monticello, close to Allerton Park. To go with the natural, rustic feel of the environment, Heather selected a mix of garden and wildflowers, most of which were grown in my mom's garden. I'll admit that I was a little nervous about the flowers after a couple of weeks of dry, hot weather but in the end, there were a lot of things in bloom. I had never worked on a wedding quite like theirs before and it ended up being really fun!

Each table held a mixed arrangement in a quart jar covered in burlap. There were also jars filled with sand and candles spaced out on the tables.

Doug & Kendra

A couple of weekends ago, I had the privilege to work on the flowers and reception set up for Doug and Kendra. I've known Kendra for years and was very thankful to hear how this couple came together!

Kendra selected a timeless look for this outdoor reception by using all white flowers with touches of green. In Illinois, you just never know what the weather is going to be like and they had a WARM weekend for their wedding. The following are a few pictures from the reception.

This past weekend, Dan and Sandy got married at the beautiful St. John's Catholic Chapel on campus. Up above is a picture of the best smelling bridal bouquet I think I've ever done. It is filled with 'Vendela' Roses, Spray Roses, Ranunculus and Hyacinths with a base of Salal leaves and icy branches. The Hyacinths smelled amazing and reminded me that spring is just around the corner! Really. It'll be here soon...

'Orange Unique' Roses, Hydrangeas and Lily grass were used
in all of the bridesmaids' bouquets.
As a true U of I girl, I LOVED that this couple
chose orange as an accent color for the dark blue bridesmaids' dresses.

I love the way these bouquets flow. They are so much fun!

A couple of weekends ago, I had the pleasure of working on my first wedding of 2011. My friends Grant and Hannah got married here in Champaign with a reception at Lake of the Woods in Mahomet. I particularly love working on winter weddings, and this one turned out beautifully!

Christmas Centerpieces

So, this post is a little behind, but here are some pictures of the centerpieces that I worked on a few weeks ago. This is the first holiday season in six years that I haven't been working in a flower shop, so December seemed a little strange. Luckily, this order helped put me in the Christmas spirit!

This past Saturday was Hotaka and Katherine's wedding day. I've gotten to know this special couple over the past couple of months and I wish them the best! They did a great job of selecting flowers to fit their personalities and capturing the fall season...

Well, it's been an "interesting" week in the floral design business! I've learned a few lessons and had a great time working on a wedding that took place this past Saturday. Ivan and Katie chose a very classic look- red roses- and made the flowers their own with some unique touches!

The picture above is the bridal bouquet I recently made for a special gal. My roommate Kristin got married this weekend to a great guy. Kristin and I have lived together for 3.5 years and she's become one of my best friends. Needless to say, she will be missed around here and better come back to visit often!
